’Tis the season for Hot Chocolate and other warm and soothing beverages. A few weeks ago I took it upon myself to develop a hot chocolate recipe with just a bit of a twist, and the result was Almond White Hot Chocolate. It is so good that even my husband who doesn’t like hot chocolate liked this recipe. And the stain factor for my little people’s clothes is pretty much nonexistent with white chocolate, so that’s a win all by itself.
Side note: the first time we tried this I got the hot chocolate waaaay too hot – we really like warm chocolate and this was like molten lava chocolate. We put it in the refrigerator with the intention of reheating later, but after dinner we tried it cold and it was still really good, almost like a thin white chocolate milkshake. So if you have leftovers try it cold too!

Base layer of marshmallows in your beverage receptacle means you’re off to a good start.
Top with a heap of fluffy almond whipped cream.

In a saucepan, combine white chocolate, sugar, vanilla, and 1/2 cup of milk. Heat on medium, whisking frequently, until the chocolate and sugar have completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Whisk in the remaining 2 1/2 cups milk and continue to heat until it has reached desired temperature.
