Sour Cream & Garlic Mashed Potatoes

We are a potato loving family and these Sour Cream and Garlic Mashed Potatoes are the best! I love garlic, so I think it gives them a nice little pop of flavor, and the sour cream, butter, and milk makes them so creamy. It puts me in mind of my favorite quote about potatoes:

“What I say is that, if a man really likes potatoes, he must be a pretty decent sort of fellow.”

-A. A. Milne (author of Winnie the Pooh)

I’m pretty sure I’ve used that quote in a potato post before, but it’s true so it bears repeating.

Place a pot of water on the stove to boil. Peel and slice about 4 cups of potatoes. Add the potatoes to the boiling water and cook until tender.

Drain and add the other ingredients. Allow the butter a minute or two to soften before you begin mashing.
