This list feels a little deceptive to me, because it makes it look like I’ve been reading a lot more than I actually have. Life has been crazy busy lately, so even though there are several books on this list the explanation for that is that I’ve been taking a really long time to work through them. Especially the Christmas book. But no matter, on to the books!

At Home in the World
Tsh Oxenreider
I only finished this one yesterday and immediately posted a review of it. I’ve heard so many people talking about this book that I had to check it out, and let me tell you, it is absolutely delightful. I love the idea of following a family with small kids around the world, and I love the honesty in the story she tells. Two thumbs up, check it out!

Mountain Christmas Brides: Nine Historical Novellas Celebrate Faith and Love in the Rocky Mountains
Susan Page Davis, Carrie Turansky, Mildred Colvin, Mary Davis, Lena Nelson Dooley, Darlene Franklin, Debby Lee, Tamela Hancock Murray, Gina Welborn
That’s right, I’m reading Christmas books in September. Why? Because I’m a dedicated book blogger with the goal of giving you guys a knock-out Christmas book list at the beginning of December. You will notice that this is a novella collection. I happen to like novella collections because it makes me feel like I’m getting more for my money, so to speak, so get nine stories in one book. One thing I will say is that this book is long. It clocks in at around 430 pages, which is a little on the long side but not too bad. But then I opened it up and realized that the print is tiny! I’m enjoying it but my goal is not too ambitious – I hope to finish this book by the end of the month.
Deadly Proof
Rachel Dylan
This one is a Christian legal thriller with a little romance mixed in. I’ve only just barely started this book so I have no concrete opinions yet. All I know is that it’s outside of what I would typically choose, and that is what appeals to me about it. I’ll report back in a couple of weeks and let you know if it’s any good or not.
Next on the pile:
Reading People
Anne Bogel
I should be done with Deadly Proof just in time to start Anne Bogel’s brand spanking new book Reading People, which releases on September 19th (I preordered the ebook). I can’t wait to hear her breakdown of the major personality types, because there are several that I’ve wanted to learn more about and haven’t taken the time to yet. Hopefully this will give me an introduction so that I can determine if I want to learn more. And I hope she shares what her types are, especially for the enneagram. I love the enneagram.
Speaking of Anne Bogel, don’t forget to hop over to her blog and check out this awesome link-up she is hosting for more posts about what other bloggers are reading. What are you reading right now? What do you think of my titles? I want to hear from you!
Reading People looks really interesting! I’m going to have to add that to my list!
It comes out Tuesday!
Right now I’m reading Beautiful Creatures. I found the series at Goodwill a few months ago and I finally decided to start them. I’m only like 60 pages in, but I like it so far.
Goodwill finds are hit or miss sometimes. Glad you found a winner!
I haven’t heard of any of these yet but they all sound interesting! Thanks for the recommendations!
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully you found something to add to your stack.
I need a new book to read! Thanks for this 🙂
My pleasure 🙂
I have a ton of books that are on my summer to-read list that I haven’t gotten around to yet, but that’s mostly because I haven’t gone to the library to request them. The most recent book I finished is the 5th Harry Potter.
I’ve never read Harry Potter, but I understand those books are pretty long. It probably took you all summer to read that one!
I’m reading ”Essentialism” by Greg McKeown at the moment – it is awesome!
I’ve heard great things about that book! I have it on audio, maybe one day I’ll actually listen to it 🙂
