What’s up, fellow readers? I hope everyone is having a great month so far and enjoying all the Christmas build-up. Maybe for some of you that will include some extra reading time as part of your holiday relaxation. If not, just know that the craziness of December will be over before you know it, and you can get your reading life back on track at the first of the year.
In fact, I have big reading plans for 2018. I will be publishing the first ever Read. Eat. Repeat. Reading Challenge on Thursday, December 21st, and I can not express to you how excited I am about it. Reading is by nature a solitary activity, but it doesn’t have to be lonely! I’m hopeful that many readers will participate and engage with me and each other over the books we all choose in response to the prompts. Check back in on the 21st to see how you can make some new bookish friends in 2018!
But enough about the (super-mega-ultra exciting) challenge, let’s talk about what we have been reading lately.
Just Finished:
I just published a full review of this book yesterday, so you can click here to read more. The short version is that Regina Jennings is a really funny and engaging author who works in serious topics without being preachy or boring.
In Progress:
If this title looks familiar to you, that would be because it was on my in progress list last month as well. Even though I am really enjoying it, it keeps getting pushed aside for other books. I pledge to you that I am going to correct that this weekend. Poor Ender has been strung out by me long enough.
It’s no secret that I’m a Julie Klassen fan. I’ve reviewed several of her books in the past, including the first in this series, so I can’t wait to dig into her latest which just released December 5th. You can probably expect a review for this one before the end of the year.

The Forgetting Time OR A Log Cabin Christmas: 9 Historical Romances during American Pioneer Christmases
Alright you guys, I need opinions. I’m in need of an ebook and I can’t decide between The Forgetting Time and A Log Cabin Christmas. I seriously doubt I’ll realistically have time for both with all the other reading I need to finish by the end of the year, so I’ll have to pick just one. Which one should I choose???
P.S. A Log Cabin Christmas is free for Kindle right now, so go ahead and snag that one if you’re interested in it.
I’m scrambling to try to complete my 20th Century Classics list before the end of the year, so hopefully my library hold for this one will come up soon. C’mon Overdrive, don’t let me down!
And thanks to Modern Mrs. Darcy for hosting a quick lit link up! If you want to see what even more bloggers are reading, go check her out.
oooh I really wanna read the ray Bradbury one! thanks for the reminder!

You’re welcome! I hope it’s good. I mean, it’s a classic so it must be, right?
Yes, the busyness has definitely affected my reading! But I enjoy reading when I can, so hopefully I can get some time in! Lol
Sometimes it’s hard to fit it in! But it can be a really good self-care activity, so I try to squeeze it in.
I haven’t heard of Julie Klassen, but honestly the cover looks inviting and sometimes that’s all you need to know : ) I’ll check her out!
Oh you should, she is a fantastic story teller! I’ve read all her books and I really love them. She does a great job of addressing issues like unwed pregnancies and mental illness through the lens of the time period she’s writing in, but with grace and compassion.
I am always looking for great recommendations! I think I will check out the Log Cabin; free is always a win!
I know, I can’t ignore the siren song of free Kindle books 😂
I love how much you obviously read! I need to find more time to read just because books instead of my usual self help genre. Now I know where to look when I need to find a new good book!
‘Just because’ is the best genre 🙂 I like self help books too, just not as much as fiction lol
I’ve heard great things about Julie Klassen’s books. Definitely need to look into them!
Definitely! Hope you enjoy them!
These sound like great reads! I’m not a huge reader but I will have to save these! Thank you!
Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been looking for a good book to read over the holidays! Thanks for sharing!
Hope you found one to enjoy!
The Ladies of Ivy Cottage looks like something I’d love!
Anything by Julie Klassen is sure to be a favorite for me 🙂
Thanks for the link to Log Cabin Christmas! I just sent it to my Kindle!
Always happy to help a fellow reader 🙂
