My first post of 2019 is a good one, my friends. This wonderful new Cherry Mango Smoothie recipe is the perfect addition to your healthy food arsenal. It’s great for any meal or snack and it’s totally kid friendly!
The short version of how this smoothie came to be is that one day one of my daughters was sick and wanted a smoothie. I hadn’t been to the grocery store in a while, so I started throwing random smoothie ingredients into the blender cup and whipped up what I could. Then I gingerly tasted the resulting smoothie to make sure it was fit for human consumption before handing it off to my ill offspring. Much to my surprise, it was not just edible but absolutely delicious.
The problem was, I hadn’t really payed a lot of attention to exactly what I had put in this blue-ribbon surprise smoothie. So I wrote down my best estimation of the ingredients and proceeded over the coming weeks to try to recreate the magic. It took many iterations, let me tell you, but I congratulate myself on having the dedication to persevere until I am at last able to share the final recipe with you today.
This Cherry Mango Smoothie only requires 4 ingredients and comes together in 5 minutes or less. It’s so creamy and delicious and it quickly became one of my favorite smoothies! Here are a few more of my favorites, in case you are curious:
My sweet daughter happily sacrificed a few minutes on her birthday to model this recipe for me in exchange for the smoothie and the pretty pink straws. I think she has a promising future as a food model.
Also, I can’t post a smoothie recipe without mentioning my undying love for my Ninja blender (affiliate link). I use it allll the time and if I was suddenly wealthy I would buy one for all my friends and family. If you’re in the market for a blender that will make the most delightfully smooth milkshakes, frozen coffee, and smoothies, this is it. Make sure you get the cups, they’re the best part.
Creamy, healthy, and delightful for any meal or snack!
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 1/2 cups milk, any variety*
- 1 cup orange juice
-
Add ingredients to a blender in the order listed and blend until smooth, about 20-30 seconds. Serve immediately.
*You can use any kind of milk you prefer (almond, coconut, soy, dairy). I’ve tested it with almond and dairy and have gotten the best results with 1% or 2% cows milk. It makes it extra creamy and delicious.
Love how easy it is, sounds yummy too
