5 Fall/Winter 2019 Christian Fiction Releases I’m Excited About

5 upcoming releases fall/winter 2019

Some people can’t wait for the newest iPhone or for the next Marvel movie to hit theaters. Me? I watch my favorite publishers and authors like a hawk so I can be the first in line to order or place a hold when books I’m excited about release. Today I’m going to share with you five book from Christian Fiction authors/publishers that I’m beyond eager to get my hands on before the end of 2019.

I’m also linking up with some other book loving ladies who are going to be sharing their Top 5 picks as well, so make sure you check out Kat over at Kat’s Corner Books and Alysha over at For the Love of Christian Fiction, too!

The books I chose are listed in order of release date, with one coming out in October, one in November, and three on the same day in December! Guess who will be doing an inordinate amount of reading the first week of December? That’s right, this girl.

My Fall/Winter 2019 Picks:

The Painted Castle
Kristy Cambron
October 15, 2019

This book is the third in a loosely connected series that centers around dual-timelines that all take place in a beautiful castle in Europe. Her first one, The Lost Castle, took place in France and the second one, Castle on the Rise, took place in Ireland. The Painted Castle takes place in England and follows three women connected through history by the Parham Hill Estate. Both of the other books contained sweeping multi-generational stories with beautiful descriptions of the country they were set in, and I’m anticipating the same from this book. As a bonus, she also includes descriptions of the food that the characters are enjoying, which is a literary quality I’m always interested in.

Lake Season
Denise Hunter
November 12, 2019

Denise Hunter is the master of light, but not exactly fluffy, Southern romances. She is great at mixing in humor and flirtation with more serious topics and I’m excited to read Lake Season, the first in a new series. It follows Molly Bennett and her siblings on their mission to restore an old family home back into a functional inn, and Adam Bradford, an award winning author who comes to stay there searching for inspiration. Molly and Adam strike up a friendship, but since he uses a pen name, she had no idea she is in the presence of one of her literary idols. I have really enjoyed several of her other books, and even wrote reviews for Honeysuckle Dreams and On Magnolia Lane.

The Bridge to Belle Island
Julie Klassen
December 3, 2019

Julie Klassen is one of those authors whose new book I will read without even seeing the description first. I’ve read all of thirteen of her Regency romances and haven’t come across a dud yet. Her heroines are full of flaws and pluck and good intentions, and I’ve said before that one of my favorite things about Julie’s stories is that you’re never completely sure which man the heroine will choose until the very end. She often has more than one good option and doesn’t just fall in love at first sight with a flawless, handsome nobleman. Can’t wait for this one!

The Major’s Daughter
Regina Jennings
December 3, 2019

Of all the authors on this list, I think Regina Jennings is the best at humor. Her characters manage to get themselves in the most hilarious predicaments and are so endearing as they muddle their way to the other side. These books are full of historical gold nuggets and sweet romances. The Major’s Daughter is the third in her Fort Reno series set in – you guessed it – Fort Reno in the 1880s. I adored the first two, Holding the Fort and The Lieutenant’s Bargain, as well as a related novella in the Hearts Entwined collection. I’m excited to revisit some fun characters and see what she has in store for Caroline, who made her first appearance in Holding the Fort.

Echoes Among Stones
Jaime Jo Wright
December 3, 2019

If you like books that are a little creepy but not quite scary, Jaime Jo is your girl. I get freaked out easily but not by her books. They are the perfect combination of a creepy mystery that spans multiple generations in a compelling dual-timeline novel. She also does a great job pulling in tough topics like mental illness and human trafficking and contrasting them through both historic and modern day lenses.

BONUS PICK:

Strands of Truth
Colleen Coble
September 10, 2019

This one releases today, so it’s not technically an upcoming release, but I haven’t read it yet so I’m including it anyway. Colleen Coble is my go-to for clean romantic suspense. Her books are packed with action from start to finish and this book sounds like it will continue with that trend as we follow a pair of half-siblings who find themselves in danger after locating each other for the first time and beginning to ask questions about their father.

And that’s my list! One more thing – I hope you all like this style of post because I will probably be doing another similar one at the first of the year. If you think there are some great books on this list then hold onto your socks in January, because the list for early 2020 has me pumped. So many great books, so little time!
