Summer Reading Bingo

Who’s ready for a summer full of reading? I am, for sure! But I wanted to do something a little different this summer, and inspiration struck a few weeks ago when my first grader’s teacher sent her the most adorable reading bingo sheet. It had great challenges that were perfect for a seven year old, like ‘read a book with a flashlight’, ‘read three books without stopping’, and ‘read a book in a funny voice’.

She was so excited to get started and has had so much fun marking off the squares over the past few weeks, which gave me the idea to create a grown-up, summer-themed version of reading bingo to share with all of you. You can click the image below to save a printable PDF version to hang on your fridge for a whole summer of reading fun.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I might make some extra coffee money at no extra expense to you if you buy something through one of my links. Read more about that here.

Two more things. The first is that we discovered that Do-A-Dot markers are the perfect thing for marking off completed squares in reading bingo. If you don’t have any on hand you can get them at your local Walmart or craft store, or you can order some here.

Second, there are a couple of challenge squares that require you to choose a certain type of book, so I decided to share some suggestions for those, just in case you need them. All of these books I’ve read and enjoyed (except for Summer Island, which I’m planning to read myself this summer; I could’t think of a book I’d already read with summer in the title).

I hope you’ll join me in a round of summer reading bingo and feel free to use the hashtag #summerreadingbingo on social media so we can see what everyone is reading for the different categories.

Follow me on Instagram to keep track of what I’m reading this summer and tell me what you’ve been reading as well!
