Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake Jars

Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake Jars

This dessert is basically all of my favorite things in one convenient package. What I love about it:

  • Peanut butter
  • Oreos
  • Cheesecake
  • Individual portions

These jars are seriously delicious and my family eats them up as fast I can make them. We are huge fans of peanut butter, oreos, and cheesecake, so that is no surprise, and housing this dessert in jars makes serving and clean up a breeze.

Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake Jars (or any cheesecake jars, for that matter) are highly portable, which makes them great for gatherings. I really like dessert jars for baby or bridal showers because they are easy to prepare ahead of time and there is no serving involved. Also, it’s easy to dress up the jars with ribbons and other decorative items to make it match any theme.

Another thing to love about Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake Jars is that they are easy to make and only require six simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. You just crush some Oreos, whip up the cheesecake mixture, and layer them in the jars. Easy, peasy.

Other yummy cheesecake recipes:

As far as the cookies go, don’t feel like you have to buy name brand Oreos to make this recipe work. When I say Oreos, what I really mean is ‘chocolate sandwich cookies’, because brand loyalty is not as important to me as keeping my grocery budget in check.

A note on layering: If you plan to make these jars for a special occasion, you might consider using a pastry bag to fill in the (ridiculously fluffy) cheesecake layers to avoid messy smudges on the inside of your jars. But if presentation doesn’t matter (it doesn’t to me about 97% of the time), then you can totally scoop it in with a spoon and it will still taste a-maz-ing.

Don’t overthink it or let Pinterest guilt you if your jars don’t look perfect. If it tastes good, then it is good.

That would make a fabulous t-shirt slogan.

Seriously, though, give these a try. And for my friends who deal with peanut allergies, rest assured you can totally sub in almond butter with no problems.

Servings: 8
Ingredients
  • 28 Oreo cookies
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
  1. Crush the cookies. Divide into three equal amounts and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter, and sugar until well-combined, stopping to scrape down the bowl a couple of times. Add in vanilla and whipping cream and continue to beat on medium-high speed until fluffy and creamy.

  3. Line up eight half-pint sized jars and divide the first set of crushed cookies equally into the bottom of the jars. On top of that, divide half of the cheesecake mixture equally to create the next layer. Follow that with the second set of crushed cookies, then the rest of the cheesecake mixture, finishing up with the last set of crushed cookies for the final layer. Your layers should go cookie/cheesecake/cookie/cheesecake/cookie.

  4. Place lids on the jars and chill for at least two hours before serving. For best flavor and texture, eat within two days.
