I’ve been a fan of Jody Hedlund for a long time, so when I saw that she had a new series coming out about time travel with a gorgeous cover I was like, “Sign me up!” The premise is interesting, the romance is complicated and full of sparks, and Come Back to Me kept my attention from start to finish.
The author does a great job with historical detail, not just in the setting, wardrobe, etc, but also by placing the characters in the midst of historical events. What makes this so interesting is how a person from the present experiences things that they know about in advance because it was recorded in history.
The one thing I was a little concerned about when I started approaching the last 25% of the book was whether or not there would be a satisfying ending that tied up enough loose ends to make sense without being too tidy or unbelievable. I’m happy to report that I thought it ended well. There was enough closure to end the book without frustration, but it was open ended enough that there is room for the story to continue in the next book.
I gave Come Back to Me 5 stars on Goodreads and can’t wait to hand it to friends and family members for them to enjoy as well.
