Is it weird to say I have a favorite fish? I enjoy fish in general, like fried catfish or baked tilapia, but if salmon is an option I will almost always choose it. Up until recently, I kind of believed that good salmon was hard to achieve at home and it was categorized as a ‘restaurant food’ in my mind, but no more! I started experimenting and have discovered this simple but delicious recipe for honey soy sauce salmon and now I make it for lunch at least once a week.
The great thing about salmon is that it cooks pretty quickly, so even with mixing up the glaze the whole thing only takes about 10 minutes. Ten minutes, y’all! You can’t beat that with a stick.
There are really only three steps to this recipe. Just cook on the first side in hot oil, flip and add the sauce, then let it simmer for another minute to thicken the sauce. Then you can serve it immediately!
Since it’s so fast and simple to make, honey soy sauce salmon is perfect for quick lunches at home or for dinner on a night when you are pressed for time. You can microwave a bag of veggies while it cooks, and voila! A hearty, healthy meal on the table in minutes. If you have a little more time to work with, mashed potatoes go great with this dish.
The recipe below is for two servings, but it can easily be adjusted if you need to feed more people or want extras for the next day. It makes for good leftovers, so feel free to double or triple the recipe and pack it in your lunch box to take to work — your coworkers will be so jealous!

Once sauce has thickened and fish is cooked through remove from heat and serve immediately.
