I’ve really been on a salmon kick recently, for a couple of reasons. First, it’s quick to make. Even if you are pulling it out of the freezer, you can thaw and cook a piece of salmon in like 20-25 minutes. Second, it’s very versatile! It tastes great with a variety of seasonings and sides. And, of course, we all know salmon is good for you. All my experimenting with salmon has been a lot of fun and has led to this bourbon bbq salmon recipe that you can now enjoy, too.

How to make Bourbon BBQ Salmon:
It’s super simple. Preheat your oven, pat dry and salt a piece of salmon, slather it in your sauce, and bake. The ingredients are also simple — just bourbon, bbq sauce, garlic powder, and salt. And here’s a pro tip: you definitely want to use parchment paper for this recipe so that the clean up is nice and easy. Work smarter, not harder.
You can also make it in a pan instead in an oven if necessary. Dry and salt the salmon like usual, then cook it in olive oil for about 7-8 minutes on each side. Pour the sauce over it in the last 5 minutes and let it finish cooking.
This recipe feeds about 2-3 people, depending on portion size, but it’s really easy to scale up as needed.
What should I serve with it?
My favorite way to eat this is over rice (plan to have an extra tablespoon or two of bbq sauce on hand to stir into the rice) or alongside my favorite veggies (usually broccoli and/or sweet potatoes). You can also shred it and eat it in a salad or pop it on a bun and enjoy a salmon sandwich. The sky is the limit!
