Since The Parenting Pact released, I’ve been getting all sorts of comments and questions about the single-parent element of the story. Apparently, this is a trope that readers seem to feel is underrepresented in rom-coms! So I decided to share a few rom-coms with single parents that I think you might enjoy, in case this is something you want more of in your life.

These are all sweet, closed-door romances with little or no cursing that I have personally read and liked. Enjoy!

8 Single Parent Rom-Coms

How to Kiss Your Grumpy Boss

Perry Hawthorne is my boss. Only my boss.

And I do NOT have a crush.

The Fallback Plan

The bad boy and the golden girl have traded places…

My Lucky Charm

A humiliating break-up leads to an impulsive New Year’s Kiss with a complete stranger.

The Buy-In

When a family of former pro football players buy a small Texas town, they didn’t intend to start a war with its residents … or to fall in love.

Scrooge and the Girls Next Door

When the sunniest woman in Creekville buys the house next to the grumpiest man on the street, sparks fly . . . and not just because she keeps blowing his fuses.

One Last Play

I ask her out, she turns me down. Rinse and repeat. But I don’t plan on giving up any time soon. My instincts are always right, and they’re telling me Meadow Jane Carter might just be my future wife.

House Mate

Goals for a fresh start:

  1. Move out of my parents’ house.
  2. Get my teaching career back on track
  3. Join a widow support group
  4. Don’t fall in love with my dad’s coworker/my new landlord.

The Parenting Pact

Being a single parent isn’t easy. Finding love as a single parent? That’s not even on my radar.

Let me know if you decide to try any of these sweet single parent romances and if you enjoy them!
