The last thing I want to do is watch my brother marry my ex-fiancée. Nothing good can come from showing up to the wedding alone and revealing to my family just how much I haven’t moved on.
If I had a girlfriend, it might be a different story, but I’m definitely not ready for another relationship. My best friend’s suggestion that I hire a fake girlfriend is out of the question – except that it seems like the perfect solution to Annie’s dilemma, too.
I’ve never been a damsel in distress, but a streak of bad luck has left me so short on cash that when Grant proposes a deal that will help get my bank account back on track, I have to at least consider it.
All I have to do is pretend to be Grant’s girlfriend for a couple days at his brother’s beach wedding. Sure, it’s an unconventional arrangement, but how bad could it be?
