March Book Choice – 2018 Reading Challenge

I’m sure you’ve all been eagerly anticipating the announcement of my March book choice for the 2018 reading challenge and I must apologize for the delay in posting. The plague fell upon our home and we have been sick as dogs for the last week or so, but things are looking up and I was finally able to make it to the library to make my selection.

This month’s prompt is: A nonfiction book with an interesting topic.

For my nonfiction book I picked up First Ladies: Presidential Historians on the Lives of 45 Iconic American Women. They say behind every good man is great woman and this book “provides an up-close historical look at these fascinating women who survived the scrutiny of the White House, sometimes at great personal cost, while supporting their families and famous husbands – and sometimes changing history.”

How interesting does that sound? And for the record, I had no idea what book I was going to choose when I walked into the library. I just headed for the New Nonfiction section and this book jumped out at me almost immediately. I will say it’s pretty thick (about 450 pages), so hopefully I’ll get it all finished before I have to return it. If not, I’ll just renew it and keep reading. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Have you made your March book selection yet? Tell me about it in the comments or anywhere on social media using the hashtag #readrepeat2018 so I’ll be sure to see it!
