Hello, friends! Hope you are well wherever you are and are enjoying the start of the holiday season. We had a great Thanksgiving and I am ready to launch into Christmas in all it’s glory. I always have a ton of things I’m loving this time of year, but today I’m keeping it short and sweet with three just things that I’m loving right now. Two are seasonal, and one is just awesome anytime of year.

A pre-lit Christmas tree
At the end of last year my husband and I ordered a new tree at an after Christmas discounted price to replace our old tree that had lost quite a few needles and was looking pretty shabby. We opted for a pre-lit tree this time around and when we put it up for the first time last weekend I was immediately in love. Ten minutes start to finish to have the whole tree ready for ornaments. What a wonderful Christmas gift that was!
Wool socks
It’s starting to be consistently cold where I am, which means you won’t see my toes again until spring. If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a chronically cold person, it’s that the most effective way to battle the cold is to keep you feet and head warm. If my feet and head are warm I can tolerate a lot cooler temps than otherwise, so I’ve been wearing heavy wool socks (including some manly ones borrowed from my husband’s hunting wardrobe) to achieve toasty feet. I highly recommend this strategy!
All the book mail rolling in
I get books in the mail pretty consistently throughout the year but in the last few weeks I’ve really been extra excited about the titles on my doorstep. On my short list to read in December:

The first one is the sequel to a book I adored last December (Holding the Fort) and the other three are the result of my great bookish fortune in winning an Instagram giveaway from Bethany House Publishers a few weeks ago. Woohoo!
A pre lit christmas tree sounds like a smart idea no more hours spent untangling lights ahah

I LOVE our pre-lit Christmas tree! And I grew up in Wisconsin, where we always had live trees. But here in Colorado, there are fewer tree lots, they are usually shipped in from out of state (unless you go cut your own in the mountains, which…no, not for us), and they kept getting horribly dried out and I was afraid of fires. Last year we bought a fake pre-lit tree from Costco and I am never going back!
I hear you, I’m never looking back either. We did a live tree one year and I had the same thought about it catching fire – I don’t need that added anxiety in my life ha ha.
I just did the Christmas tree and man were those lights horrible to do!
They are a pain! I’m never getting another tree that isn’t prelit.

We have a pre lit christmast tree too. When I was growing up in Kuwait, that was all we had around us. Since of course there was no option of having a real one. I still don’t understand the fascination hough … Since I feel bad for cutting down one I guess. But I’m sure the joy of a real one has it’s own uniqueness.
I would agree with that. It does seem wasteful to cut down a tree just to look at it for a month.
